Our Beliefs
If
our beliefs are to have any value, they must be put into
action. Who we are and what we do as a church must
always be securely rooted in what we believe about God. The
Bible is the source that shapes our understanding of Him. We
are convinced that the Bible is the inspired message to
humanity, revealing Jesus Christ as the Son of God, and that it provides for us a clear path toward a
relationship with God by grace alone through faith..
Copper Mountain is a fellowship of the
Assemblies of God. Our foundational beliefs are:
- The Scriptures are inspired by God and declare His
design and plan for mankind.
- 2 Timothy 3:15-17
- 1 Thessalonians 2:13
- 2 Peter 1:21
- There is only One True God–revealed in three
persons...Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (commonly known
as the Trinity).
- Deuteronomy 6:4
- Isaiah 43:10,11
- Matthew 28:19
- Luke 3:22
- In the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. As God's son,
Jesus was both human and divine.
- Matthew 1:23
- Hebrews 7:26
- Acts 2:22
- 1 Corinthians 15:3
- Matthew 28:6
- Acts 1:9
- Though originally good, Man willingly fell to
sin–ushering evil and death, both physical and
spiritual, into the world.
- Genesis 1:26,27
- Genesis 2:17
- Genesis 3:6

forgiveness for sin).

- Romans 10:13-15
- Ephesians 2:8
- Titus 2:11

- And practice two ordinances—(1) Water baptism by
immersion after repenting of one's sins and receiving
Christ's gift of salvation, and (2) Holy communion (the
Lord's Supper) as a symbolic remembrance of Christ's
suffering and death for our salvation.
- Matthew 28:19
- Mark 16:16
- Acts 10:47,48
- Romans 6:4
- The baptism in the Holy Spirit is a special experience
following salvation that empowers believers for
witnessing and effective service, just as it did in New
Testament times.
- Luke 24:49
- Acts 1:4
- Acts 1:8
- 1 Corinthians 12:1-31
- Acts 8:12-17
- Acts 10:44-46
- Acts 11:14-16

Holy Spirit is speaking in tongues, as experienced on
the Day of Pentecost and referenced throughout Acts and
the Epistles.
- Acts 2:4
- 1 Corinthians 12:4-10
- 1 Corinthians 12:28
- Sanctification initially occurs at salvation and is

a progressive lifelong process of separating from evil
as believers continually draw closer to God and become
more Christlike.

- 1 Thessalonians 5:23

accepted God's offer of redemption (regardless of
religious denomination) through the sacrificial death of
His son Jesus Christ.
- Ephesians 1:22,23
- Ephesians 2:22
- Hebrews 12:23
- A divinely called and scripturally ordained leadership
ministry serves the Church. The Bible teaches that each
of us under leadership must commit ourselves to reach
others for Christ, to worship Him with other believers,
and to build up or edify the body of believers–the
Church.
- Mark 16:15-20
- John 4:23,24

sins).
- Isaiah 53:4,5

with them, to be with the Lord forever.
