CHILDREN & STUDENT MINISTRIES

Welcome to Our Nursery

"Whoever welcomes one of these little ones in My name welcomes Me." - Jesus

Mark 9:37 NIV

Welcome Parents!

We thank God for the vision He has given us for this ministry and the Nursery facilities that He has provided for children.  While in our care, we will faithfully minister to their physical and spiritual needs.

We believe that it is possible to share the love of Christ with a child from the day of his/her birth.  Every time your child is in our nursery, we will tenderly and consistently demonstrate and communicate Christ’s love.

We want your little one to feel that being in church is a happy experience.  Our dedicated staff will provide yummy snacks along with toys that are clean and age appropriate.

Acquaint yourself with our nursery and let us answer some questions parents often ask.  Please read this brochure carefully.  Your positive cooperation is of vital importance in our effort to provide an effective and meaningful experience for your child.

If you have any further questions or concerns about our Nursery, please ask  a Nursery Volunteer or call the church office at 797-2582.

NURSERY GUIDELINES

  • Our Nursery is only available to those on church property.

  • Nursery facilities are available to children up to and including two years of age.  When children turn three, they move to the pre-school area.

  • For health and safety reasons, we only accept children who are well.

  • We only allow scheduled volunteers to serve in the Nursery.  We ask that you do not enter our Nursery unless you have been paged or need to nurse/change your child.

  • Please pick up your child promptly after the church service as a courtesy to our volunteers.

  • Our Nursery Staff consists of volunteer workers who model loving care.  Thank you for being patient and kind to them as they serve you and your child.

Our earnest prayer is that God will bless our efforts as we care you your little one.  We want our nursery to help your child take his/her first steps toward God!

Sincerely,

Copper Mountain Assembly of God
Nursery Ministry Team

What to Bring

Please remember to bring diapers, bottles, pacifiers, and a change of clothes for your child.  Your diaper bags and all personal items should be labeled with both the parent/guardian and child’s name.

Signing In & Checking Out

Upon you arrival at the Nursery, you will be asked to sign your child in and will be given a Nursery Pager.  When a parent is needed during church services, the pager will be activated.  First time visitors will be asked to fill out an information card on their child.  Our policy for signing in or checking out a child is as follows:  Parents or legal guardians only.

Health Standards

Our Nursery is cleaned after each service and is open to babies who are well.  We will not be able to accept a child with a fever, persistent cough, diarrhea, or other signs of illness. If any of these symptoms develop while your child is in the Nursery, we will quickly page you.  Please help us to keep our Nursery a healthy place for all babies and toddlers.

Nursery Team

The Nursery Team consists of Coordinators and approved Volunteers who work on a rotating schedule.  We ask that you do not enter our Nursery unless you have been scheduled, paged or need to nurse or change your child.  Limiting access to our Nursery provides a quieter and safer place for the children who are under our care.

Parent Commitment

Once you begin to regularly attend Copper Mountain Assembly of God and use the Nursery, you will be scheduled to serve in the Nursery.  This schedule usually covers several weeks and is mailed to all volunteers and posted in the Nursery.

Please keep in mind that the effectiveness of our Nursery depends on everyone’s participation and faithfulness.

Medications

Under no circumstances are Nursery Volunteers allowed to administer any type of medications.  This includes diaper cream and baby powder.  If your child requires any medication or has special needs, please check frequently on your child.

Discipline Policy

Under no circumstances do we physically discipline a child.  We gently correct and affirm good behavior.

Diaper Changing and Potty Training

We do NOT allow our volunteers to change diapers.  Checks are made and when diapers need changing we will page you to the Nursery.  We will do our best to assist your child with potty training.  Please be sure to remember to bring a spare change of clothing for your potty trainer.

Bottles and Snacks

We will gladly give prepared bottles of milk or juice to your child.  As a snack, we will provide crackers for children on solid food unless you ask us not to.

Nursing Mothers

For your comfort and privacy, we have a designated area for nursing mothers inside the Nursery.

Your Support is Vital!
